Mr. Frank Sanchez is proud to be the new principal at Columbia High School in the South Orange & Maplewood School District. Prior to coming to Columbia, Frank spent the past 12 years at the Mountain Lakes School District where he was high school principal, Director of Curriculum, and Social Studies Supervisor. Frank started his career and spent his first decade in education in the Springfield School District as a Social Studies teacher and later Director of Humanities. For the past 14 years, Frank has been a mentor and instructor to aspiring administrators as part of FEA's NJEXCEL leadership program.

Tracie Morrison is excited about continuing in her role in the Columbia High School Cougar Family as assistant principal. She began her career working with children and adolescents as a Family Service Specialist for the Division of Youth and Family Services. After serving as a Teacher of English for Newark Public Schools, Morrison worked as a Professional School Counselor for 15 years in Montclair Public Schools. She earned her BA in English from Rutgers University, Douglass College, her MA in Counseling from Montclair State University, and her School Leader training through the NJEXCEL leadership program.

Lamech Obwoge is a passionate educator with over 15 years of experience. He is a proud Columbia High School graduate (2003). He served as an Assistant Principal in Brooklyn, NY prior to joining the administration at Columbia High School. He taught High School History in New York City, Newark, Jersey City, and Princeton, NJ before moving on to a career in school leadership. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University and a M.A. Ed focused on School Building Leadership from Columbia University's Summer Principals Academy. Mr. Obwoge believes that all students can excel when high expectations are coupled with a joyful culture around teaching and learning. He believes that students thrive in environments where authentic relationships are formed based on mutual respect, trust, and empathy.
Ms. Luisa Iuliano-Cabrera

Luisa Luiliano-Cabrera is the assistant principal at Columbia High School (CHS) overseeing attendance and discipline for eleventh and twelfth graders. Iuliano-Cabrera has served as an ESL teacher, Honors English, and Advanced Placement for English Literature and Composition for over 20 years. Her roles outside the classroom include literacy coach and master teacher. She received her education from Seton Hall University and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature and a Master’s Degree in Education. She completed her school leadership training through the NJEXCEL leadership program. Iuliano-Cabrera has served on Pearson’s English Language Learners Content Advisory Panel and English to Speakers of Other Languages Content Advisory Committee for the National Evaluation Series™ (NES®) Online Framework Review. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Mr. Philip McCormick

Philip McCormick is an assistant principal at Columbia High School (CHS). McCormick previously worked as CHS’s social worker and taught psychology at the high school for more than a decade. McCormick received his bachelor’s degree in psychology, as well as N.J. teacher certifications in social studies and psychology, from Montclair State University. He received his Master of Social Work (MSW), his License of Social Work (LSW), and his school social worker certification from Rutgers University. He received his Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in education leadership, management, and policy as well as his supervisor and principal certifications from Seton Hall University. He has also completed the District’s Aspiring Leaders program. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering with various causes that are important to him, traveling, and landscape photography.
