The Eco Star program at South Mountain Elementary in South Orange, NJ educates South Mountain students to become environmental stewards and leaders – to think deeply and creatively about current environmental topics, and act sustainably in as many ways as possible.  This school year, Eco Star education efforts have focused on the connections between food and the environment. Students learned how choices about food types, production, packaging, origins, and waste can help or hurt the environment.  Check out their Earth Day 2022 video.
