About Us

The Seth Boyden Demonstration School Media Center is a welcoming place where all children are invited to learn and explore. There are book displays that highlight special occasions, books organized by series, maker materials and more! We have thousands of books and every student is encouraged to take books home with them each and every week.

Meet The Librarian

My name is Janine Guida Poutre and I am the Seth Boyden Demonstration School Media Specialist. I have lived in SOMA most of my life and went to our super schools! In fact, I have gone to or taught at almost every school in our district! I love spending time with my students, talking about books and learning about technology. When I’m not at school I love to spend time with my family and our dog, read, knit, and be outside.

The Seth Boyden Library prides itself on being a welcoming place for our Community. We have been working hard to make it reflect our patrons! If you would like book suggestions, book requests, or have book suggestions or any questions, please let me know.

About Libraries

Parents at Clinton School created this fantastic video about libraries! Please enjoy.

Volunteers

Yes, please!

Our library is always looking for volunteers to assist with daily tasks. These tasks include, but are not limited to, checking children's books in/out, shelving books and caring for our collection. In addition, I am always looking for willing hands to assist with special displays and bulletin boards. Any amount of time is appreciated! Please contact me before dropping in as I am usually with classes. Many thanks!!

If you are interested, please contact Janine Poutre at jpoutre@nullsomsd.k12.nj.us.
