Columbia High School filmakers and animators won at the 2018 Montclair Emerging Filmmaker Competition.

On August 3, 2016, the State Board of Education approved updated state regulations for the high school graduation assessments requirements in both English language arts (ELA) and mathematics for the Classes of 2016 through 2021, and beyond. These new state regulations (N.J.A.C. 6A:8-5.1) became effective on September 6, 2016.
Fifteen South Orange and Maplewood residents, all students at Columbia High School (7 Sophomores and 8 Juniors), participated in a Model UN Conference at New York University.
The SPHINX VIRTUOSI is one of the nation’s most dynamic professional chamber orchestras, comprised of 18 of the nation’s top Black and Latino classical soloists.
