Jefferson Elementary Participates in Reading Incentive Program

Jefferson's Reading Incentive Program Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Leary’s Third grade class participated in the NJ Devil's Stick With It Program. The goal of the program is to help students in grades K-4 increase their reading habits. It is also designed to make reading fun and reward hard work. To kick off the program all the students received NJ Devil's bookmarks, pencils and bracelets. Then, the children had to log their reading for four weeks. Once all those minutes were tallied up, the class had our winner.

The top reader, Tamarah Williams, will receive a NJ Devil's t-shirt. Additionally, all the students who decided to participate were entered into a class raffle to win two tickets to a game. The winner was William Quillen. He attended the NJ Devil's vs Sabres game on April 5, 2016. William said, "The game was full of action and very epic.” What a wonderful program to promote reading!
