ASSIGNMENT: Students are to create 7 complete drawing, while utilizing the Elements of Art. (Color, Shape, Value, Form. Line, Space and Texture).  Students should refine work to demonstrate their highest potential.

Students are to create the following pieces:

  1.     Self portrait
  2.     Portrait of a family member
  3.     Figure drawing (drawing someone either standing or sitting)
  4.     Still Life  (pencil drawing)
  5.     Still Life  (color pencil)
  6.     Imagination drawing
  7.     Value scales 3 rows with 7 blocks of shading from light to darkest using pencil. Keeping  the first block completely white.

  1. Due 6/19/18: Email me at jbunce@somsd.k12.nj.us with their first name, last name, and "APMT Summer Assignment 2018" in the subject line, for example: Stark, Tony APMT Summer Assignment 2018

 

  1. Due 6/19/18: Register for the Google Classroom for the course, using the following code: xp2ot6v

 

  1. Due 6/19/18: Complete assignment #1, a simple intake form found in the assignments section of the Google Classroom. This form will be posted on 6/15/18.

 

  1. By the first day of class, complete the exercises in the assignment category "Summer Assignment 2018" on ToneSavvy.com. I will register you for this site once you email me and register for the Google Classroom. You must complete the assignments in the order in which they are listed. There are a lot of assignments. Do not wait until August to complete them.

 

  1. By the first day of class, be prepared to sing a short list of solfege patterns, to which you will have access once you register for the Google Classroom. There will be recordings on GC to help you in your practice.

 

  1. There will be a music literacy quiz in the first week of class. Please be able to identify pitches in treble and bass clefs, and be able to read and perform rhythm patterns including quarter notes, dotted quarter notes, eighth notes, dotted eighth notes, sixteenth notes, half notes, dotted half notes, and whole notes the following time signatures: 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 and 6/8. Additionally, be able to identify notes on a keyboard by letter name.

 

  1. If you decide to withdraw from the course during the summer, please email me *after* you have had a conversation with your family and your guidance counselor, so that I can de-register you from GC and ToneSavvy.
