It was another sunny day for the
2nd annual Clinton School Farmers Market! Produce from Alstede Farms and Trader
Joe’s were displayed proudly on our front lawn. Students 'shopped' for
produce and each child brought three items home. Some Clinton students
were lucky enough to benefit from an outdoor still life class, drawing the
fruit and vegetables, lead by our outstanding art teacher Ms. Tischio.
All extra produce was distributed through the school social work department to
our Clinton families who are more challenged economically.
Clinton’s farmers market generated
interest even inside the school. Children watched in-classroom videos on
farming and took part in important conversations around farming, sustainability,
and healthy eating. We declare the farmers market an unequivocal
success and we look forward to having more events like this in the future.
