Mission

The primary mission of the School Counseling Program is to facilitate student academic development and to promote and encourage personal/social and career development by working collaboratively with the school, families, and the community. Programs and services are designed to assist students in acquiring the attitudes, skills, and competencies to learn effectively and to prepare students for educational opportunities beyond middle school. A developmental program focuses on needs, interest, and issues related to the various stages of personal growth and development, including the ability to access and utilize services and resources, serves as the core of the School Counseling Program effort. Counseling program objectives, activities, and expanded outcomes recognize and support individual uniqueness, celebrate diversity, and promote the maximum development of human potential. The counseling program is an integral part of the total educational program.
