CHS Handbook

On behalf of the Columbia High School administration, faculty, and staff, we extend a warm
welcome to students and their families. With the rebirth of another academic year, we look forward to the accomplishments that await us.

We are proud of our achievements at Columbia High School! The curricular and co- curricular programs offer both diversity and flexibility in meeting your individual needs and interests. On page five, you will see "changes to academic placements" that were approved by the South Orange and Maplewood Board of Education last spring. They are summarized according to specific content areas. As the year progresses, the staff is available to assist you. We encourage you to speak to those who might be of service.

One of our goals is to see that students, parents, and families feel at home at Columbia HS. For that reason, we are pleased to have you as partners during this educational year. Enclosed in this "Student/Parent Handbook" are answers to many questions that you may have about our school. It is a valuable guide and source of information that you will find useful. Please join us in celebrating student achievement, and accept our very best wishes for a successful school year at Columbia High School!
