    Philosophy of Teaching:

My goal is to use my passion for literature and writing to motivate and inspire my students.  Since their cognitive and social development is of paramount importance to me, I incorporate diverse activities and materials to engage all types of learners.  By having high expectations, I strive to create an environment where students extend their personal limits and commit to a level of performance that challenges them.  At the same time, I work to foster an environment where students feel free to debate differing ideas within the classroom.  I encourage them to express their viewpoints on the material studied, creating links between the students’ experiences to their writing and the literature we study.
