The Underhill Sports Complex fosters a safe and enjoyable environment where all fans can cheer on the excellent students in the community. The following rules must be followed for the usage of the school district facility:
Facility Use:
- District permit is required for organized athletic complex access.
- All businesses and their services are prohibited unless authorized by the district.
- The sports complex is reserved for players and coaches when students are present.
- High school students MUST show their ID to enter the sports complex. Students who fail to provide their school ID will not be permitted.
- For safety, the facility must be cleared immediately in the event of lightning or thunder. Fields will remain closed for at least 30 minutes after the storm has passed.
- Track and field access is closed when the district is closed for inclement weather.
- No loitering is permitted; fans are not permitted to congregate in any areas of the sports complex, including walkways, restrooms, aisles, and concession stands. Stadium aisles must remain clear.
- Visitors who throw food, drink, or other items will be immediately escorted from the sports complex, will not be allowed re-admittance, and will be banned from district athletic fields.
- SOMSD has a zero-tolerance policy for fighting. Offenders will be ejected, arrested, and subjected to disciplinary action by the district.
- Guardians and caregivers are responsible for their students’ behavior during sporting events.
- All visitors must be dressed appropriately.
- Dog walking is prohibited.
- No littering.
Prohibited Items:
To ensure the safety of all visitors, outside food and beverages, weapons, smoking, tobacco products, gum, pets or animals, metal spikes, cleats, high-heeled shoes, glass containers, golf, metal detectors, fireworks, drones, RC cars, carnivals, fairs, booth setups, bicycles, skateboards, strollers, and motorized vehicles are strictly prohibited.
The Underhill Sports Complex is an extension of South Orange & Maplewood School District campuses; all district rules apply. Violators of these guidelines will be asked to leave. All individuals who refuse to comply with stadium officials’ directions will be immediately escorted from the premises, will not be allowed re-admittance, and may be banned from the sports complex.
