Congratulations to Jennifer Latimer, Clinton School’s Media Specialist/Librarian, for receiving the “2019 ISTE Make IT Happen Award” by the New Jersey Association of School Librarians and the International Society for Technology in Education:
“Making IT Happen is an internationally recognized awards program sponsored by ISTE. The award honors outstanding educators and leaders who demonstrate extraordinary commitment, leadership, courage and persistence in improving digital learning opportunities for students.
In naming her the winner of this award, NJASL and ISTE recognize Ms. Latimer’s leadership, talent, enthusiasm and her contributions to her district, her association and her profession. Her ability to move forward with technology and her nature to teach through relationships in an encouraging, nurturing way empowers all learners. With Jennifer’s awareness that ‘not all students will work in IT, but all students will be touched by technology,’ she prepares students for success with practical tools and problem solving experiences.”
Mrs. Latimer was presented with this award at the annual NJASL conference in December and will be recognized at the SOMSD Board of Education Meeting on 12/16.
