School System Updates and Announcements

Dear Parent or Guardian,

The South Orange Maplewood School District will be using a new parent app, Stopfinder, for the 2024 – 2025 school year. Stopfinder is the easy-to-use, all-in-one app that allows you to have the most accurate information about your student’s bus schedule at any time from anywhere. You can also create GeoAlerts (launching October 2024) for your student, which will notify you when the bus has arrived or departed from any location on your student’s route, including their assigned bus stop and school. GeoAlert Zones can be created for individual students allowing you to customize the Alert Zone based on their bus route. Stopfinder also includes the ability to create alerts based on your student’s assigned stop.

The email address that is currently on file with the district will be used for Stopfinder setup.

Access to Stopfinder is granted only to the student’s designated contacts by the Transportation Department. The Stopfinder contacts, at their own discretion, may share their student’s schedule with caregivers (sub-subscribers.) An invitation to activate your Stopfinder account will be sent via email.

Stopfinder can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play. Stopfinder will require an invite and registration through the district prior to accessing your student’s transportation schedule. Please watch for a Stopfinder invitation, which will be emailed to your primary email address between September 13, 2024, and September 30, 2024.
