Important Kindergarten Information
The morning bell rings at 8:05 A.M. Dismissal time is 2:35 P.M. Please try and be on-time. Lateness does disrupt the flow of the morning routine. If your child arrives after 8:05 they must report to the main office. If for any reason you are picking up your child early, please send a note in the morning. Any alternate arrangements for your child’s pick up, also requires a note.
If your child is absent from school, notification, to the office, is required. Please contact the main office at (973) 378-7686.
Your child will be having lunch in the cafeteria daily. All children that are not buying lunch must bring a lunch to school in a bag or lunchbox labeled with their first and last name. Please make sure your child can open all containers independently.
In addition to lunch, your child will need to bring a separate snack. The snack should be a nutritious food (fruit, cheese, crackers, yogurt, etc.) Please make sure to separate the snack from the lunch in a bag labeled with your child’s name and the word “snack” written on it. You can use a Ziploc bag to reuse each day and to avoid spills.
School folders are the main source that we will be able to communicate to each other. Please send your child’s folder to school every day! We will send your child’s homework and important notices home. Any questions, concerns, can be placed in the folders and I will do my best to respond to you that day. Notes regarding play dates or alternate arrangements can be placed in the folders as well. Please check the folder each day for papers and the website for announcements. Folders should be emptied and returned each morning with notes, or any other items for the teacher and school office.
Emails are also a form of communication. Please note, we will not be able to check my e-mail as frequently throughout the school day but will try and get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks again and I look forward to a wonderful school year!
