Author Matt de la Peña and illustrator and author Loren Long visited Marshall and Tuscan Schools and spoke to grades one and two about their new book entitled, Love.
Mrs. Bonita Samuels is one of 20 elementary and middle school principals from across the nation who has been selected by Crayola and the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) to receive a “Champion Creatively Alive Children” school grant. Samuels is principal of Marshall Elementary School in South Orange, New Jersey. Crayola and NAESP together selected 20 schools to receive the grants, which will fund innovative programs aimed at fostering children’s critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills.
It is Hispanic Heritage Month and at Marshall Elementary School Mr. Martínez’s 2nd grade class honored the histories, cultures and contributions of famous individuals whose ancestors or they themselves came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
