Rev. Milton Biggham, a Grammy-winning giant in the world of gospel music, will host "The Story of Gospel: A Unique American Art Form" on Sunday, March 26 at 4 pm in the CHS auditorium as a fundraiser for Seth Boyden. The concert will be a lively and educational journey through the history of gospel music.
Lion dancers, a fantastic DJ, and some 120 auction items were on offer at a red-and-gold Lunar New Year benefit for Seth Boyden.
Seth Boyden's big annual fundraising party and silent auction will take place on Saturday, February 11 at the Woodland in Maplewood. The theme will be "Full Moon Rising: A Lunar New Year Celebration," in conjunction with the first full moon of the Chinese lunar calendar.
A record 256 runners participated in the Two Towns Turkey Trot 5K and Kids' Fun Run on November 19 benefiting Seth Boyden. Maplewood won bragging rights this year.
Crowds of families – and even Maplewood mayor Victor DeLuca – gathered in Seth Boyden’s Outdoor Learning Center for the school’s Harvest Festival on October 15. The festival offered an array of fall-themed activities, games, and crafts as well as homemade cupcakes and the school's signature chili.
At the first big assembly of the school year, Japanese drum masters Nancy Ozaki and Gary Tsujimoto introduced Seth Boyden students to the thundering rhythms of Japanese taiko drums.
Seth Boyden Elementary School has bid a warm farewell to its principal of ten years, Mark Quiles. The school now welcomes new principal Damion Frye, who was most recently Special Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent of the Newark public school system.
